I am living in paradise! The photo below is of Allerton Gardens on Kauai, one of the most luscious places I have ever seen, filled with so many species of plants that are not found anywhere else on the planet. Anyone seeking serenity and simplicity should find a way to visit this beautiful island.

I’ve actually moved onto the next leg of this journey and we are pet-sitting on Oahu before we move to our next destination in a few weeks.

This experience has been incredibly eye-opening. Besides the majesty of the sea life (I’ve seen so many turtles) and the natural beauty of the mountains I am learning to let go of so many of the ways I’ve unknowingly defined myself. For example: I am no longer a home owner (we sold our place in Sedona), and living out of two suitcases on an island has certainly put my sense of the importance of a pair of awesome shoes and a stylish bag into a different perspective. (I still have a storage unit back on the mainland, but you know what I mean.)

What defines you or what do you think you are defined by? It’s interesting to look at and really see the truth.

Aloha,

Brenda
