Saturday I had the honor of taking part in a V-Day workshop in Los Angeles that was being held for V-Day organizers. Here’s a photo of yours truly, Brenda Adelman, with my good friend and co-producer of V-Day Sedona for the last three years, Mindy Mendelsohn (on the left) and Eve Ensler, one of the strongest and most inspiring women I have ever met, in the middle.

The intimate group of V-Day organizers (including a few extraordinary men) were powerful to listen to. Everyone has a story for why they do what they do to make their mark in this world. I was encouraged and inspired and connected to these people in a deep way, and I just met most of them that day.

Eve talked about the focus of V-Day 2009. The devastation being done to the women and girls in The Democratic Republic of the Congo is mind-blowing, heartbreaking and heart-opening at the same time. I encourage you to google and find out what is happening there and what you can do.

Maybe you’ll want to audition for a local production of The Vagina Monologues in your town? Ninety % of the money received goes to local women’s shelters and the rest goes to the worldwide campaign to stop violence on this planet.

In casting the show in Sedona the last few years, I saw extraordinary talent and heart rise to the surface from women who didn’t realize they had it in them. Wow-it was great.

This year my intention is to connect and help out in a Los Angeles production too.

Remember to forgive yourself today for something!

Forgive and Be Free,

Brenda
