How lucky am I? I was invited to Sedona-one of the most naturally gorgeous places on earth- to act in V-Day with all these talented and beautiful and strong women!
As many of you know, my father took my mother’s life in 1995 and since then I became a strong advocate for women and children. Before then I was pretty much living in denial and as a disempowered woman in many ways.
V-Day is one of the annual events that raises awareness about violence against women and girls. V-DAy raises money through benefit performances of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues, all over the world. Ninety % of the money goes to the local community shelter where the show is produced and ten % is donated to the global cause for the year. This year they are donating the money to the caring for women and girls in The Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Men can also take part in the event by supporting the show. We’ve had some incredible, wonderful and strong men involved over the years. Daniel, our lighting man started the first year I produced the show in Sedona, back in 2006 and has been with this production every year since.
